While fully approved for food and feed use in Canada and the United States, corn hybrids with certain biotechnology derived traits are not yet fully approved in all major export markets. Grain from these hybrids must be properly stewarded and segregated from grain entering those export markets. Currently, PRIDE Seeds’ hybrids that require directed marketing of the grain are those with YieldGard VT Triple®, Genuity® SmartStax® or Genuity® VT Double PRO™ technologies. Hybrids that cannot enter export markets must be directed to and used for on-farm feeding, directed to domestic feedlots or feedmills, or directed to local elevators or corn processing plants that are accepting this grain. For a complete listing of hybrids not yet approved in major export markets, please visit the Canadian Seed Trade Association web page at www.cdnseed.org. Before opening a bag of seed, be sure to read and understand the stewardship requirements, including applicable refuge requirements for insect resistance management, for the biotechnology traits expressed in the seed as set forth in the technology agreements that you sign. By opening and using a bag of seed, you are reaffirming your obligation to comply with those stewardship requirements.
